Our trip to Hawaii

We fell in love with the beauty of this area instantly when we stepped off the plane and could smell plumeria flowers...! YUM..my fave! We were taken very good care of by Tyler's work while we were there. We wish we could have extended 1 more day, but felt we better get home to the kids (they got miss 1 week of school)! As many of you know, I HATE seafood, and although I did try crab, lobster and shrimp..I still HATE seafood. BLAH! Anyway, we had a lot of fun meeting other couples there from all over the U.S. that work for the bank. Tyler loved the exclusive Pearl HArbor tour and enjoyed learning and hearing all he could about the ships and the journey's and the war. I knew I would get emotional listening to all of the stories, because my grandfather served in the war (he helped fix the planes and get them back up in the air). We got to visit the aviation hangars, USS Missouri, USS Bowfin(didn't get to see the Arizona though, it was closed). We liked going on a day cruise around the Honolulu harbor to do some whale watching. We saw 3-4 whales upclose and boy...are they big...we even saw a tail fin pop out of the water! WE also cruised up to the North Shore and saw some of the most beautiful beaches! Tyler stopped by Giovanni's famous shrimp truck on the side of the road to take in some shrimp. What did I do...? You ask? I just sat and sipped on my strawberry-banana slushy. I could see myself living there some day (maybe not on Oahu, but the other islands) we hope to go back and take our kids...and do some dolphin training. They were in a lake right out side our hotel window--and yes they do really smile all the time!
